This session will describe a multi year research project conducted in the United Kingdom. Jason will describe why the research was undertaken and what they learned about supporting elementary teachers to plan and conduct effective science investigations. Using examples of children’s work, he will explain the challenges that the program’s stakeholders have faced and the ways in which the teachers, and professional learning leaders, have overcome them together; as well as why the program’s principles of equity and responsiveness have been central to its success and how this has helped ensure its sustainability.
